Picture
IM Robert Jamieson
  • Twice Australian Chess Champion, once Australian Open Champion and twice Doeberl Cup winner
  • FIDE Rating of 2444
  • (October 1983) Jamieson's play was equivalent to a rating of 2622
  • July 1983 ranking #79 in the world is second best Australian ranking of all time (Ian Rogers reached #62 in Feb 1999)
  • Extensive coaching experience over the past 40 years - having coached almost every top player in the country at some point!
  • RJ Shield tournament named after him!

Plus our headline coaches such as Carl Gorka, Smari Teitsson, Frank Meerbach, Tim Broome, Daniel Holten, Axel Ahmer and Anthony Hain. All students rotate and get to work with various coaches. It is very important for players to get different perspectives and ideas from different players with different strengths, this makes students more well-rounded and ultimately, better players.
