Everyone has some natural ability at chess. It makes us play the way we do. Some of us love to attack, while others prefer not to take risks. Some players are nervous until the queens are exchanged, while some players seem to lose inspiration when the queens are swapped off. Getting to know your own natural strengths and weaknesses can help you to work on those parts of the game that need building up, while trying to direct the game in a certain opening to best suit your style. The best situation is when we’re pretty good at all parts of the game, but even then work can be done to make all those things better.
