Option 2: Ballarat Begonia OpenFor the last 50 years the Ballarat Begonia Open has run as one of the best Adult Open Chess Tournaments in Victoria. In 2016 for the 50th Begonia Open, the field include world-famous English Super-Grandmaster Nigel Short, together with many of Australia's best players and a number of strong juniors. We encourage students with a rating of 1000+ (or who can comfortably play a 2-3 hour game of chess) to consider taking part in this fantastic event.
